Victoria Falls, in Zimbabwe has one great cascade. Niagara, on the US/Canada border has two. But there is only one candidate for the greatest in all things waterfall, and that is undoubtedly the stupendous collection of cataracts shared by Brazil and Argentina, where the red-brown waters of the Iguazu River raise their unequalled spectacle.
There is also the unrivaled opportunity to 'get completely soaked' on a joyride under the waterfalls. Believe me, they do mean soaked!
So much for the Argentine side - worth spending 2 days seeing it at a leisurely pace. Across the border in Brazil is the wonderful 'Parc Dos Aves', allowing close and personal encounters with colourful avians.
Finally, the Iguazu falls from Brazil provide a panoramic view, plus a chance to hear the falls thunbder from about a metre from the torrent.
